Ghost Planet is a prequel to the 1987 cult classic Beyond the Rising Moon—a fan favorite on the SyFy Channel in the 1990s. The film was produced entirely in Falls Church, VA, featuring local DMV actors.
The film, a crowd-funded project, is an adventure set on a mysterious world where a group of astronauts discover alien technology and the find of the century. With production, editing, miniatures, and visual effects all crafted in Philip Cook's Falls Church studio, Ghost Planet is a testament to independent filmmaking and the rich talent within the local community.
"Creating Ghost Planet has been a labor of love," said Cook. "The film pays homage to the classic sci-fi adventures that inspired me as a kid. I hope audiences enjoy the journey as much as we enjoyed making it."
